The guys turned up at 8.30 this morning. Started on the edging for the paths, spread the remaining gravel out and then the labourious task of leveling out the courtyard in preperation for the turf.....we are lucky that across the road from us is what eventually will be a park, at the moment it still has a mountain of dirt on it from when they were doing our stage, and we have been told that we are able to use it, so the contractors used this dirt to level out our yard. Then they installed a watering system for us, then laid the top soil and are currently putting the turf on...we have chosen a type of Kikuri (?) to cope with the dogs. Tomorrow they will be back to finish off the gravel and hopefully install the fence around the back of the spa, thus making the courtyard puppy proof.
Did the driveway guys turn up today....nope! think a phone call will be in order to the boss who is in Sydney.
From this on Wednesday morning
....to this on Thursday afternoon.
Oooohhhh look at all that BEAUTIFUL grass! How exciting, doesn't it make it look so much nicer.
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if i ask how much it cost for the watering system (it's ok if you don't)the watering area/m & brand of sprinklers? We are looking at putting some in but can't decide what to get as it could end up being quite pricey. (I think it's worth it, hubby not so sure)
I really can't get over how much different it looks....love it, love it, love it!
ReplyDeleteSpoke to hubby, he thinks the area grassed is about 76sqm, the watering system i have no idea, it was a last minute decision and the contractor just put it in, and I'm not sure...but don't quote me on this, i think he's included it in the quote.
We used a local chap and we are so pleased with him and his work that we have decided that we will get him to do the front once we have chip barked the back yard for the dogs.
With all the work he has done....filled and layed the instant turf, gravel chipped along the garage, the back of the garage, laid 2 paths, put the watering system in AND is putting up 1.8m colourbond fencing at the back of the spa slab...it has all come in under $4K
Wow, that's a lot! Ok, so it would only be a part of that. That sounds like a good price for all of it.
ReplyDeleteI think we will put the watering system in ourselves - buy, dig trenches and connect pipes. Nothing fancy but i do like those pop up sprinklers that you can mow over! :)I think our turf will go next week so we better get moving lol :D
grass looks good tony
ReplyDeleteHi Diane/Tony,
ReplyDeleteWould you mind providing the contact details of the guys who ended up doing your landscaping? Your place looks great - and your experience with them sounds impressive.
Kind Regards,
Ian & Dev

ReplyDeleteSorry it took me awhile to reply, haven't been on the blog for a few days.
We used John from Wandong Garden Supplies 0413758695. They were really great and very easy to deal with, they listened to what we wanted then asked why we wanted certain items and then made suggestions, being a local he has knownlege of the area.
