Electrical

This week has seen us tooing and froing to Porter Davis.  When we got our Final Drawings they had a power point in the wrong spot in the Ensuite, so I contacted our CSC who organised a new set, when they were ready Adrian (son) took me there to collect them, ran into our old CSC there so we spent an hour talking to her...
We went through them that night when Tony got home from work....they had fixed the power point up but hadn't changed the door around in the Rumpus room, which put the light switch on the wrong side of the door, so I contacted our CSC again, who got it fixed very quickly, back down to Porter Davis to collect the electrial sheet along with a new Variation.
This time it was all correct so we signed them and dropped them back off to PD.
Wednesday we were assigned a SS, but as yet we do not know who it is as they have not contacted us....soon....we should have some action on our house.

Finished Pre-Construction

I kept checking PD's 24/7 website today....and finally at around 5pm something had happened.

We had provided them with proof of our financial etc in early Aug...so i was a little miffed when they didn't have it down as completed on the site...maybe, i thought it was because we didn't have our Building Permit, so I was hoping that with the permit now ready that they would have updated our file....strangely they haven't updated the financials but they do have us down as Administration completed!  go figure...
Anyway what this means is that we are now ready for work to begin at the block....fingers crossed it will be soon.
On another note we went to the block tonight to finally put up our sign...you know the one, with the lot number and your name on it for the poor tradies who cant find the place.

One more eye dotted and tee crossed...

Things are moving along really quickly now.
Today when looking on PD's 24/7 (as i do everyday...and on numerous occassions) I was so excited to find that we had gone from stage 3...waiting for a Building Permit, to Stage 4...they have received our Permit...thank god for that, this now means that we are getting closer and closer to a site start.

Also today Adrian and I went to visit our blocks at Mandalay and Wallan, I am pleased to report that both Metricon and Ashfords have finally removed the piles of dirt they left on my block after their site scrapes...it has only taken them 3 - 4 weeks to get around to it.

So, hopefully next week we can get a date for starting our house, at the rate we were going Mia could have been a grandmother by the time it was finished...thankfully that will not be the case!

What I was pleased about yesterday when we saw our CSC was the fact that they are not going to charge us anything extra for starting in Feb or March...should hope not, we've been ready since mid November.

Done & Dusted

We saw our CSC today and fixed a few things that concerned us...I'm happy to say that my french doors now all open up the correct way.  :)  The other items that needed fixing have also been done, so now, after signing the new paperwork we are locked in ...no more changes allowed.
So, all we are waiting for now is for our Building Permit to come in and we should then be set for a site start...we are hopeful that it can come in either tomorrow or Monday or Tuesday, so we can get our SS and then just maybe we can be allocated a site start.
Wow, now we are starting to get excited...come on...we have been patient...
On another note, we hope that all our tiles we picked are still available as its now been 11 months since we went to National Tiles.

Talk to you all soon...hopefully   :)

Final Drawings

Our Final Drawings arrived today.....yay, we were super excited.
With the third soil test coming out in our favour, our site costs have been reduced as we now need no piers, however we did add some other items which took up most of the refund, but thats extra money we don't have to find.  :)

There were quite a few things that Porter Davis changed, for some reason they have decided that both my french doors should open inwards...hmmmm don't think so.  the extra power point we added to the ensuite for the heated towel rail, well they decided that it would work really well down beside the toilet and not near the shower where it was supposed to go...why you would want a power point next to the loo i do not know.
The other major thing we want cleared up is the extra air con vent....we wanted it in the kitchen area, well they sorta put it near the kitchen, they put it beside the bifold doors to the alfresco...so all the lovely cool air will go straight out the door and not cool me in the kitchen at all.

Anyway we now have an appointment with our CSC tomorrow to sort it all out.

Third soil report

Its been  10 days since the last post and not alot has changed since then.
After not hearing anything from her in absolutely ages we sent an email to the Administrative Manager outlining our case.  Apparently the CSC's are supposed to be in contact with us every week.....hmmm, not on your nelly.......
We also found out from him that we were supposed to have been sent a variation stating that we were not starting till February.....still to this date we have not received it.
Later that night we received an email from her with the long awaited third soil report...this report is so so different from the 'phantom' report, but what this all means we have yet to find out...
Last month when we saw our CSC in person we gave her a list of things that we thought she should know, things that we had discussed with our old CSC....there were some things on the  list that we wanted to see if we could have or changed.  To now she hasnt gotten back to us.

One day...we will start to build our dream house.....sigh....

Progress????

Some people are just soooo slow.
After not hearing anything from our CSC after she promised to either call us or email us on Friday, we sent her a firm email on Friday night telling her how disappointed we were and explained a few things in regards to our finances...at the end of the month it will be 12 months since we got approval from our bank for our loan, we have already had to resubmit all the paper work once and this time it looks like we may have to reapply for the loan, who knows were that will take us.
This morning we got a call from our broker telling us that she had sent an email to our CSC...turns out we have both said the same thing to her...she laughed when we said that we had also sent her one.

Anyways...Tony received a phone call from our CSC tonight apologising profusely for not getting in contact with us.
The soil report that we have been waiting for came in on Thursday night...so why does it take 2 days for them to look at it?  PD will go over it tomorrow to see what needs to be done, then she will give us a call and let us know what in the hell is going on.

It has now been over 12 months since we found our house, then went looking for land.....found the land and put a holding deposit down on both house and land.....grrrrrrrrrrrr.....okay, given that the land was held up for 5 months but come on, we have been ready and waiting for a further 2.5 months...with hardly any communication from them, and no site start in the near future......I dare them to prove me wrong!!
